Abstract

This study surveyed 2,200 third to sixth grade English learners and 30 English teachers from Chongzhou Chenju Primary School as the research subjects. Through a questionnaire evaluated by experts, it identified the English learning difficulties of the students in listening, speaking, reading and writing, and found that the teaching strategies were insufficient and the students’ intrinsic interest in learning was weak, with external motivation being the main driver. This study aimed to formulate evidence-based strategies for enhancing English learning motivation based on these findings.
