Walking Childhood: A Decade of Practice and Reflection of a Private Study Travel Institution

Based on a decade of practical exploration by the Hangzhou Paper Flight Study Travel Practice Education Center, this paper proposes two core concepts: "Rooting Education" and "Branching Education," constructing a study travel practice education system that originates from the "Hometown Classroom" and is carried out through "Walking Courses." The article systematically elaborates on five progressive levels ranging from "understanding the hometown" to "heading for the distance," and analyzes key factors such as curriculum development, teacher training, safety guarantees, and home-school collaboration. Through numerous authentic cases, it demonstrates the unique value of study travel practice in cultivating students' core competencies. The research indicates that a study travel practice pathway based on the logic of "rooting first, then extending" can effectively foster children's identity formation, emotional connection, and life growth, offering a humanistic and operational practical model for study travel practice education in the new era.
