Study tours in border areas carry multiple values including national territory education, local cultural education and regional social connection, serving as a crucial practical carrier to implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation. Based on the home-school-society collaborative education framework, this paper addresses prominent practical problems in study tours of primary and secondary schools along northern border areas of China, such as school-dominated operation, insufficient family participation, superficial utilization of local border resources, and fragmented connection among the three educational subjects. It systematically interprets the internal logic of border study tours as an educational bond linking schools, families and border communities, and further analyzes their unique advantages in gathering family educational resources, activating characteristic local border resources, and feeding back grassroots social governance and cultural construction in border regions. In view of the educational reality of northern border areas, a standardized, operable and replicable practical path for collaborative education via border study tours is constructed from four dimensions: top-level mechanism establishment, integrated development of featured courses, co-construction of diverse practical scenarios, and implementation of multi-dimensional home-school-society evaluation.
