Abstract

Drawing on front-line English teaching and comprehensive practice experience in county primary schools, the author found that disciplinary imbalance has long existed in county-level study-tour education. Most local ecological study-tour resources serve science, moral education and rule of law, and geography, while English teaching remains at a shallow stage of integration with local real-scene study tours, leaving quality local educational resources largely untransformed into teaching content. As a national soil and water conservation demonstration county, Baiquan County has developed, through years of sustained governance, distinctive ecological resources—black soil protection, shelter forest construction, under-forest industries and farming folk customs—which serve as high-quality local carriers for implementing the philosophy of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" and English disciplinary practice. However, county-level English study tours still face scattered resource development, objectives divorced from students' actual conditions, sightseeing-oriented designs, weak language output training, and single rigid evaluation. Based on real teaching scenarios in county primary schools and the core literacy requirements of the new curriculum, and on the resource features of northern agricultural counties and students' language cognition, this paper explores an implementation model featuring "local real-scene experience + task-driven teaching + in-class and out-of-class linkage + multi-dimensional evaluation", summarizes practical strategies fitting grassroots conditions and daily teaching rhythms, and builds a regularly implementable and replicable county-level English study-tour system, helping students improve language competence, deepen hometown affection and develop awareness of disseminating local culture abroad, providing references for reforming English practical teaching in county primary schools.
