Abstract

Principal’s study tour leadership is a core competence for primary and secondary schools to implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and achieve high-quality development of research study practice in the new era. Relying on the Provincial Study and Labor Practice Base and district-administered National Defense Education Base, Yuren Primary School has established and steadily operated a national defense education study system consisting of one distinctive feature, two carriers, three implementations and four integrations. Centering on the "Nine Reds" themed activities, the school has formed a distinctive brand integrating red inheritance, national defense education and practical competence cultivation. Considering the limitation that grassroots schools are unable to apply for independent study bases and have to rely on regional public resources, this paper summarizes the connotation, promotion paths and practical strategies of principals' study tour leadership according to achievements in base cooperation, school-based textbook compilation, youth military campus construction and regional activity organization. It provides replicable and popularizable experience for similar schools to optimize study tour work and improve principals' comprehensive leadership.
