Existing studies have mainly focused on the curricular value, knowledge acquisition, and practical skill development of study travel, while a systematic explanation of how study travel affects students' psychological development and its underlying mechanisms remains lacking. Drawing upon experiential learning theory, self-determination theory, and positive psychology, this paper proposes the Context–Process–Resource (CPR) model to elucidate the dynamic generative mechanism through which study travel facilitates students' psychological development. It should be noted that study travel does not automatically produce psychological developmental effects; its effectiveness is moderated by multiple factors such as the quality of curriculum design, teacher support, peer interaction patterns, and individual student differences. Future research should advance study travel research from "outcome evaluation" to "mechanism explanation," and from "activity organization" to "psychological development support."
